{"id":642,"date":"2025-01-03T16:35:32","date_gmt":"2025-01-03T14:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.arb.ro\/?page_id=642"},"modified":"2025-01-03T16:37:20","modified_gmt":"2025-01-03T14:37:20","slug":"obligatiuni-ipotecare","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.arb.ro\/en\/proiecte\/obligatiuni-ipotecare\/","title":{"rendered":"Covered bonds"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"642\" class=\"elementor elementor-642\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-617ecc8 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"617ecc8\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b86ab0f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b86ab0f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Covered bonds<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5a9d0b0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5a9d0b0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The measures adopted during the crisis \u00ad- when international funding became more difficult to obtain \u2013 were focused and paced in such a way as to allow banks to raise financial resources at optimal costs for their portfolios, including by making more liquid their portfolios of mortgage loans.<\/p><p>One of the solutions adopted on the financial markets was to issue covered bonds \u2013 via which banks intended to diversify their financial sources and raise new funds for the development and expansion of their activities.<\/p><p>Covered bonds are debt securities issued by an issuer \u2013 in conformity with the provisions of Law no.  233\/2022 plus the regulations issued by the National Bank of Romania for its application \u2013 and  are collateralized with a cover pool of assets which the investors in covered bonds can resort to directly, in their capacity of creditors benefitting from a preferential claim. These bonds are listed and they are to be traded on licensed capital markets.<\/p><p>The bonds covered by receivables have, generally speaking, a better credit rating than other securities. The introduction of bonds collateralized with real estate receivables allows credit institutions to raise funding at a lower cost compared to other instruments, which translated into  the going down of mortgage-lending costs for consumers. The risk is lower for these investors compared to the issuances of unsecured bonds.
