SIBOS, the most important global event of the banking and financial industry annually organized by SWIFT, took place this year in Boston, United States of America, during September 29 – October 2, 2014.
SIBOS 2014 gathered during one week over 7.300 delegates and around 220 companies – banking and financial institutions, technology providers, market infrastructures, multinational corporations and consultancy companies.
The main topics discussed during the SIBOS 2014 Conference, inside various sessions, debates and discussion panels hosted by the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, were: operational excellency, increasing financial services efficiency through innovation and collaboration, aligning with the markets demands, challenges and opportunities brought by new regulations.
130 representatives of the national SWIFT communities attended the annual meeting of SWIFT National Member & User Group Chairpersons, organized every year during SIBOS. The Romanian banking community was represented by Radu Gratian Ghetea, SWIFT National Member Group Chairperson and Rodica Tuchila, SWIFT National User Group Chairperson.
The SIBOS Conference programme included a special interest session organized by Allevo, SWIFT certified partner, session called „BOOST – Bank on Open Source Today”, a debate about the impact of technology evolution on the banking and financial industry, innovation, information and knowledge sharing, about using open source applications in the banking and financial services.
